Ight here is how I farm. It works well, so going by this way is not a bad choice of action.
I assess all my targets when moving into an area for farming. I have no pattern on where around my city I specifically go but I do attack almost everyone. I like to use T2 and T3 troops for farming because they march faster, faster farming=more farming .
Also, don't be afraid to whisper check people ( type /player name and then space and type message), if they are offline, time is not as important as if they are online. Also alot of people may open for farming runs with just wagons going.
My categories I go by as i farm:
Level Assessment:
Are they levels 1-10 11-30 or 31+?
Then I look at alliance/name and might. If they are in a good alliance or one that will retaliate with force, which I check by looking up the alliance rank and members (at this point I have developed a good idea of who is who for alliances). If they don't have an alliance I look at name, mainly is used with people under level 10. If they are a "new user", I don't attack because you wont get more than 50k of any resource. Then by looking at might, I assess roughly what they will have for troops and if they will have wall troops to defend with. So like a
level 15 guy with high amounts of might for being that level probably has some wall troops in there because they are worth alot of might.
Level 1-10 no alliance guys are not very good farms, but are generally inactives at that point too, so do whatever you would like with your time.
Level 11-30 I assess by alliance and might only. I potentially scout if they seem like a person I may not wanna potentially getting into a fight with, so a good scout worth alot of resources (2+ million of more than 1 resource), then its ok Otherwise if they seem like nothing special might and alliance wise, I just make sure I send enough troops with a good hero and hope for the best.
Level 30+ guys typically will possess the most resources from my experience, but I assess the same was as level 11-30.
Might Assessment:
0-100k might guys, I typically take my chances and send just 500 wagons (ESPECIALLY with the 0 might guys)
100k + might Ill scout for my 1st time or send enough troops to destroy them.
Huge might guys, ALWAYS scout 1st!. Dont be afraid of their might, just be aware what could be to come if you piss them off
4 BIG points to make here:
1) ALWAYS be aware of the consequences of who you farm!
2) If you find something good, BOOKMARK it for future farming.
3) If you find guys that you find to be inactive (might doesn't change or no retaliation) hit them a few times a day, they may have good resource production.
4) Finally, when you hit it big or above your limit of what you will use and protect within about a half hour, bank it or share it, just dont give it up
