So how do we defend against wild flippers? With great difficulty. Unless you are online when he/she/it is attacking, you are going to have your wilds flipped if he/she/it knows where they are. Reinforcing your wilds is a possibility, but unless you are prepared to give up all of your heroes to reinforcing all of your wilds, the you will not be able to fully protect them all. Also if you reinforce your wilds and our other enemies find out, it will be easy for them to find and destroy your armies piecemeal.
So the only viable option is to make it very hard for them to find by having your wilds scattered far and wide. Now you would have to spend time finding them then lose some troops taking them but the cost of troops will be small. If a wild flipper wants to spend all their time scanning the map to find them, then good luck to he/she/it. I wouldn't enjoy that.
Lastly, if you can do without wilds then this is the safest option. Many of us farm enough to fill our queues and share with the alliance. This also reduces the need to have resource plots in you city, which has benefits of increasing idle population. All valid things to consider when deciding whether to maintain you wilds.
